The 106th Grey Cup Festival Edmonton 2018

Edmonton city will host the 106th Grey Cup Festival Edmonton 2018. The Canadian Football League officially announced the event date, venue, and city. According to CFL, the 106th Grey Cup will be played on 25th November 2018 in the Brick Field Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium. Edmonton city already hosted this championship football game in 1984, 1997, 2002 and 2010. The 105th Grey Cup Festival Ottawa 2017 was hosted by Ottawa city and played at the TD Place Stadium.

This time the 106th Grey Cup event will coincide with the Brick Field Stadium’s 40th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of Edmonton Eskimos. The chairman (Jim Lawson) of the CFL’s Board of Governors has expressed his feelings about this event. According to him “Our league is proud to award the Grey Cup to a city known for great Canadian football, tremendous hospitality and incredible volunteers”. He further said about this football championship game “Our fans here in Edmonton and across Canada know this is a great place for the Grey Cup. When the city last hosted in 2010, the game sold out in a week.”
